0329-cuttino-mobley-tmzThings former basketball star Cuttino Mobley hasn’t done in a while:
A) Play in the NBA
B) Pay his credit card bill

Mobley — who signed a five-year contract back in 2005 for $42 million — is being sued for running up a $95,846.62 American Express bill which has gone unpaid.

A rep for Cuttino tells us someone used Cuttino’s card without permission and therefore he’s disputing the charges.

On the plus side, Mobley has 508,040 Membership Reward Points.

Prince — Could Be Called to Testify in Michael Jackson Wrongful Death Lawsuit

March 31, 2013 by admin

0331_prince_mj_gettyPrince and Michael Jackson never worked together in their illustrious careers … until now … because TMZ has learned Katherine Jackson intends to call Prince as a witness in her wrongful death lawsuit against AEG.

As TMZ first reported, MJ’s mom and three kids are seeking $40 billion in damages from AEG or its alleged negligent hiring and supervision of Dr. Conrad Murray.

According to docs filed earlier this month, Katherine’s legal team plans to call nearly 100 witnesses … with one of them being Prince.

It’s curious, since Prince and MJ never collaborated, but we’re hearing Katherine’s legal team believes Prince had a bad experience with AEG in the past that could be relevant.

Can you imagine Prince on the witness stand?

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.”

Lindsay Lohan in Limbo Over Rehab

March 31, 2013 by admin

0331_lindsay_lohan_tmzIt’s been two weeks since Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in lockdown rehab, but TMZ has learned there’s been no movement in placing her in a facility.

We broke the story after lots of digging … there’s no such thing as lockdown rehab for Lindsay, and that creates a problem because we’re told the judge and prosecutors were under the clear impression — based on representations by Lindsay’s lawyer — that she could be placed in such a facility in New York.

We’re told prosecutors are discussing what to do with the famed defendant, but nothing has been decided. The options are regular rehab (where Lindsay has been a royal screw-up in the past) and jail

In fact, the sentence is actually 90 days in jail which can be fulfilled by 90 days lockdown rehab.

It’s unclear if prosecutors will make the rehab decision on their own or take it back to the judge. Given that the judge also seemed to clearly be under the impression that lockdown was an option, it’s likely Judge Jim Dabney will have to sign off.

Is Chris Brown Telling Drake To ‘Come Out The Closet’ On ‘R.I.P.’ Remix?

March 31, 2013 by admin

If you thought Chris Brown and Drake were getting any closer to deading their feud, think again. Breezy took the opportunity to throw a shot to his musical nemesis when he appeared on the remix of Young Jeezy’s “R.I.P.” single, which dropped Friday (March 29) on DramaLikeTheDJ.com.

“Dearly departed, I bought a plane I departed/ And if you started from the bottom, go on and come out the closet,” Chris rhymes on the song’s final verse, making a clear reference to Drake and his “Started from the Bottom” single.

The two made major headlines last June after a now-infamous bottle-throwing brawl in a New York City nightclub, which reportedly involved both men and members of their respective entourages. While the feud has quietly carried on, there has been a subliminal war of words brewing.

After the club incident, Brown addressed the beef in an unofficial remix of Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” single. “They throwing bottles, I’m throwing models,” he rapped before delivering “OVO you overdose/ Screaming YOLO, no I live twice.”

Many believe Drake took a swipe with his verse from Aaliyah’s posthumous single “Enough Said” last August. “Running through the city with n—as I’d give a kidney/ Selling under 150, you n—as gotta be kidding,” Drizzy rapped, leading many to believe he was insulting Brown, who sold 135,000 copies of his Fortune album when it was released in July 2012.

The feud is believed to be over Brown’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Rihanna, who is also said to have been romantically involved with Drake as well. Earlier this month, Drake seemingly took another light jab on his fiery “5AM in Toronto.” “Sinatra style I’m just being frank with ya/ I mean, where you think she’s at where when she ain’t with ya,” he spit, leaving many to speculate that the spat between the two inspired the line.

Brown wasn’t the only one getting things off of his chest on the “R.I.P.” remix either: Jeezy also expressed his distaste with MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game VIII” list and the fact that he wasn’t included. “Trap star bitch spell it with a big ‘T’/ Give a damn if I never be a hot MC,” he rapped.

Do you believe that Chris Brown was dissing Drake on Young Jeezy’s “R.I.P.” remix? Let us know in the comments!

Ryan Gosling Reveals Director’s ‘Place Beyond The Pines’ Challenge

March 31, 2013 by admin

With high-speed chases and a plot that spans generations, “The Place Beyond the Pines” is a complex undertaking that shows how two sons ? law-breaking Ryan Gosling and law-upholding cop Bradley Cooper ? are affected by the actions of their absent fathers.

Gosling plays Luke, a stunt bike driver-turned-bank robber, and one of the biggest action scenes in the film is a continuous take that ends with Luke zooming around a cage on his bike. Gosling said director Derek Cianfrance had some interesting inspiration for the sequence and the rest of the film.

“It was a real challenge for Derek, you know, multiple timeframes, so many more actors tackling action in a unique way,” he said. “A big reference for him was ‘COPS,’ and so everything, all the action had to play out in one take. Just took a lot of planning.”

Cianfrance once directed Gosling in another ambitious, time-spanning film, 2010’s “Blue Valentine,” which took a look at the long, slow undoing of a once-perfect relationship.

With their filming history, the director and actor became friends, Gosling said, adding praise for his movie-making pal.

“['The Place Beyond The Pines'] was just a very ambitious film on his part, and I was just proud to be his friend and to be a part of it,” Gosling added.

The film hits theaters this weekend.

Man Tattoos Pitbull, Defends Actions as Dog Lover

March 31, 2013 by admin

Ernesto Rodriguez has chosen an unusual way to show affection for his pitbull, Duchess.

The disabled Iraq war veteran posted a photo to Facebook this week of a tattoo on the canine’s belly. It is a crest meant to signify its bloodline and it has drawn the ire of many animal lovers around the country.

“I love my dogs,” Rodriguez told WXII12-TV in Winston-Salem, explaining that Duchess was asleep and sedated when inked.

“There’s people out there saying that I’m cruel, that I hurt my dogs, that I don’t love my dogs … that I should be in jail. I paid a lot of money for my dogs and I take care of them.”

Having been made aware of the incident, the Stokes County Health Department and Animal Control department visited the owner and did not file any charges.

“What a waste of tax payers money,” Rodriguez wrote on Facebook in response to that visit. “So I’m still gonna tattoo my dogs whenever I del like it? good try, haters, thanks for all the advertisement.”

And it could be worse, really. Rodriguez could have gotten himself a face tattoo after just one date.

What do you think? Is it wrong to tattoo one’s pet?

Will Lil Wayne Really Retire After Tha Carter V?

March 31, 2013 by admin

With I Am Not a Human Being II, Lil Wayne has officially logged in his 10th solo LP. Combine that with his staggering number of mixtapes and group albums, and it’s pretty clear that Weezy has racked up a lot of rap mileage.

That, in part, is the reason Wayne told MTV News that after he drops Tha Carter V, he will retire ? but do you believe him?

“When you are at that level as a prolific rapper, there’s a demand. It’s going to be very hard to just chill in your mansion and never poke your head out,” Tracy G., co-host of Shade 45’s “Sway in the Morning” radio show, told MTV News when we gathered a team of industry insiders to talk all things Wayne earlier this week.

Now Weezy never said that Tha Carter V would be his next album, but judging from his tone during a November interview with MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway, it was clear that Tunechi was preparing to sing his swan song sooner than later. “Carter V is my last album,” he said at the time. “Man, I’ve been rappin’ since I was 8 years old. I’m 30 now, man. That’s a long time, man.”

The problem is, no one is buying it. “Rappers don’t retire. I’ve seen this movie before. Jay-Z actually made a movie about it,” RapRadar.com content director Brian “B.Dot” Miller said, referencing Jay’s 2004 film “Fade to Black.”

Producer DVLP, who has been working with Wayne since he dropped Tha Carter II, said he’s never seen anyone work as hard as Weezy and he believes it will be hard for the MC to break out of his musical routine.

XXL Editor in Chief Vanessa Satten, who has been covering Weezy since his Hot Boys days, also doesn’t buy the retirement talk. “Everybody kind of comes back. If you spit one verse after you retire, does that mean you’re back?” she questioned. “I kind of don’t think that after Tha Carter V we’ll never hear from Wayne again.”

So what about Carter V? While I Am Not a Human Being II plays out like a lyrical slugfest, Tunechi puts a different type of energy into his Carter album series, something with more depth. “To me ? and I can totally be wrong ? Tha Carter is kind of like the main solo artist series, and the Human Being is kind of more of a one-off to keep you kinda busy between the Carter projects,” Satten said.

DVLP has produced tracks on both series of albums, and he sees a clear and distinct difference. While Tha Carter is more concentrated, I Am Not a Human Being is just Weezy being carefree. Like he says, “I ain’t got no worries.” “I think I can be more weird on the I Am Not a Human Being series,” DVLP said in terms of the beats he serves up to Wayne for IANAHB. “I think that’s just pushing it a little bit more, like his favorite tracks that he just spits on, goes crazy, might not have a hook. It’s just expression.”

Do you believe Tha Carter V will be Lil Wayne’s last album? Let us know in the comments!
